Who Attends?

Colleges and universities nominate between one and five undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, or juniors, who are active or future members of an organization on campus, such as residence hall communities, Greek chapters, clubs, student government, and service organizations. The Wakonse Undergraduate Conference will provide both emerging and experienced student leaders with a powerful learning opportunity.

One of the most important components of the conference will be taking what you learned at Wakonse and applying it to your organization to enhance leadership and learning at your respective campus. Additionally, Wakonse will teach students more about their leadership style by participating in group projects with other Undergraduate Fellows.

What Do They Do?

Undergraduates will spend the week engaging in a collaborative exploration of self-knowledge, leadership, and effective learning. Wakonse Undergraduate Fellows will have a chance to contribute their unique perspective to the Wakonse Conference on College Teaching as well as enjoy a set of learning and social opportunities designed exclusively for them. Here is what you can expect:

Learn

• Interactive workshops on leadership, learning, and self-discovery
• Sessions on how students can help improve teaching and learning on their campus
• Exchange of ideas from students at other colleges and universities

Teach

• Develop presentations on effective teaching and learning for Faculty Fellows
• Facilitate a teams challenge course for the faculty and graduate students

Inspire

• Reflect on values, interests and unique talents
• Develop personal/organizational goals & action plans
• Build friendships and a strong network of support
